Resting In Peace, Yogi Bear

It's been a year since we lost our sweet Yogi Bear to canine diabetes. All of us at Frame Your Pets remind you to have your pet checked for this disease. Symptoms are many and include accidents from a dog that is house broken, frequent drinking of water and lack of energy and lack of desire to eat. Yogi was a senior when she was diagnosed, and although canine diabetes is treatable, we considered the cost and Yogi's advanced age and determined our decision was best for her. We still miss her daily and the kind e-mails and messages received from all of you has encouraged us to continue with this blog. Thank you.

Ear Wash Anyone?

George the Human found this photo on his computer the other day and saved it for today. It's a shot of me giving Yogi an ear wash in the backyard. Yogi and her sister Boo Boo used to do this to each other a lot. I used to get it from Yogi a lot but never really gave her too many. I prefer to lick Brenda the Human's feet under a blanket. I'm glad this picture shows Yogi and me having a good time as we all still miss her very much.

How Time Flies!

The Humans were reminding me it's been a year since Yogi went to puppy heaven. I'm not too sure how long that is, but I know I still remember her. I sometimes look in places I remember her sitting in the house or out in the yard just in case she's still there. I know I still pick up her scent in the odd place, so in a way I think she's still here. The Humans talk about her a lot, which makes it easy on all of us. Magnum the Cat and I continue to get closer and closer, so I'm happy that I have both Human and Animal friends at our house.

Yippee!!!

The Humans took me out for another car ride yesterday. I got to explore more places I've never been before and had a very good time. I can't wait until we do it again!

That Sneaky Human!

I was playing in the yard with the Humans the other day. They were doing yard chores while I was chasing after birds and things. Then it happened! George the Human kicked a ball at me. I jumped at it, sniffed it then walked away. I don't chase things that don't run away on their own and he knows that!

More New Smells!

After the Humans had a picnic Brenda took me for a nice long walk. I got to see and smell a lot of new things. She even sounded as if she was seeing some new things for herself. It was a nice quiet place along the river I hope to visit again!

This Is Much Better!

Whew! I found my way back to the backseat. It's a lot easier for me to sit here and watch what's going on than it is to sit up front. Mind you, when Brenda the Human is in the front seat she let's me put my head in her lap if I want to. Back here I get to stick my head out the window. Either way, I'm just a happy dog to get outside for a car ride every so often!

Beep! Beep!

Okay, let's go! I'm sitting where the Humans usually sit when they drive the car and it looks like I'm driving and they seem to be getting a laugh out of it. In actual fact, I'm sort of scared as I didn't realize there were so many lights, buttons and do-dads over here. I think I better just get back into the backseat of the car where I know what I can do there!

Getting The Low Down By Getting Down Low

There was a lot of interesting smells out there. I smelled things I could not identify if I had to and the Humans let me wander (on a leash) so I could check out a lot of territory. I even got to leave my scent behind in a few places just in case I go there again I'll know where I was! That was a fun day with the Humans!

Look At Me! Look At Me!

The day the Humans took me for a picnic I got to do some serious exploring. Brenda the Human took me on my leash to places I've never seen. I had so much fun checking out all sorts of interesting places. There was hardly any snow and it was really nice and warm. The Humans were saying it was the nicest spring day so far this year - and I got to spend it with them!

Family Picnic Time

It was such a nice day the other day that the Humans went for a picnic and they took me with them! I got to see things I've never seen before. I got to smell things I've never smelled before. It was so much fun I hope we can do it again sometime soon. But, boy, was I ever tired when we got home. I fell asleep early and slept all night long!

Sleepy Dog

The Humans keep bugging me about how much I sleep. Even Magnum the Cat is in on it. She claims I’m always sleeping when she wants to play with me. I find that odd as we really don’t play together. We sort of tolerate each other, even though I’m sort of fond of her now, I most definitely don’t play with her. I think the Humans are mistaken.

Sleepy Kitty

Magnum the Cat sleeps a lot. I heard the Humans say that she probably sleeps as much as I do, which I find a little hard to believe. Here’s my proof: she’s ALWAYS awake when I’m awake which means she’s always doing something that gets my attention. Of course, I’m not sure what she’s doing when I’m asleep…
